Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson went to the University of Michigan and became known as the "Fab Five" but their great story would end in scandal and infamy. Most will remember Webber called a time-out the team didn't have, which helped lose the National Championship to North Carolina. Years later it would turn out that Weber was paid for being at the school and this resulted the the NCAA coming down on the program and clearing away all mention of the group and their accomplishments. I remember watching many basketball games as a young kid but the infamous championship game with the time out is the first one where the entire thing sticks in my mind. Even watching the clips today you can't help but tell yourself that this time Webber isn't going to call a time out but of course it plays out the same way year and year but you can't help but still feel the drama and shock. It should be noted that Webber refused to be interviewed for this film so that leaves a major gap in what should have been the definitive look at the Fab Five. Howard, Rose, King, Jackson and coach Steve Fisher are all interviewed and share their thoughts on how they all ended up at Michigan and what those two loses in the championship game meant. The director does a very good job at showing the history of the program and showing the impact these five freshmen had on the game. We hear about them changing the style and look of basketball but we also get to see some letters that Michigan "fans" sent where they were quite obviously racist and didn't appreciate these guys bringing a rap-style to the school. There's no question that the highlight of the film is that now infamous game against North Carolina and it's a shame Webber refused to be interviewed. It's a shame further because of the black cloud that hangs over him and the school and it's something that still hasn't been cleared up and it might not ever be. One of the other interesting ideas is hatred shown at Duke. Someone hating Duke isn't that shocking since people love to hate them but I was a little shocked to hear some of the comments coming from the players including Rose calling black players that went to Duke "Uncle Tom's". THE FAB FIVE isn't definitive due to Webber not taking place but it's still a highly entertaining look at these five freshmen who certainly left a mark on their sport.

  • @hotrod3769 They were 19! So are you saying that you were perfect when you were 19. That you never had a moment of error something that you regretted? On top of that he'd just lost a game that was very important to him. Not sure if you played any team sports in school or if you ever lost at something that you were extremely passionate about but had you a camera in your face immediately afterwards at19 would your words be absolutely innocent & free of curse? Anyhow I bid you adieu

  • @JEFFCLEVANDR They definately have accomplished more DUI's in their lives than I have. These guys have no class. All they did was bad mouth guys like Grant Hill who is nothing but a professional, Also showed no class in defeat going on profanity laced tirades( Chris Webber).. But if those are the types of athletes you want kids to look up to, that is too bad. Nice talking with you, but I have a huge pile of Dung to clean up these Elephant's are relentless.

  • @hotrod3769 I see one comment was removed for what not sure. But nice to see SO many people think you're an asshole (including me). Oh & for your information I have a job not that I owe you an explanation. These guys have accomplished more in life than you probably will ever. Explain how are these guys losers? They changed the face of college basket-ball so instead of criticizing why not give credit where credit is due or just go back to your day job cleaning elephant dung @ the zoo!

  • @JEFFCLEVANDR Nice to see many of your comments have been removed. Slow your roll Douch bag. I don't no why so many of you guys love these losers, they never won jack. I'll keep my day job if you go out a get one. Take care Meatball.

  • @hotrod3769 I have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about or who you are trying to insult or if that is even english...Are you insulting hotrod or Chris Webber or Jalen. What did you mean by the timeout.. Do you have a mental disorder cause usually sporadic conversations that makes no sense is indicative of that? And your statement.......... Well lets just say to not to quit your day job to do comedy

  • @MrTigerpride22 Cosby should have thrown them a bone and been like. "You know what... come on the show anyway. we'll work a story where you have a fling with Denise or Sandra" (No word of a lie... Those two were damn sexy back in the day. Lisa still hot now last time I remember her on "Biker Boys"). But the one who surprised me the most is "Rudy" Yo have you seen Rudy? I remember seeig her and my mouth dropped. Rudy gotta phat booty now and brains, beauty & breast to boot LOL

  • @JEFFCLEVANDR Yes that feat will never be achieved again in college hoops. They also had a chance to get Jason Kidd I think.
