What's the big idea? These ties are replicas of the ones from Kraftwerk's video The Robots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXa9tX...

Tell me more about the reprogramming. If I buy the scanner will it have to be reprogrammed?

If you get the current version of the kit, this is already programmed. Solder a wire jumper across the position "Opt 2" on the circuit board to enable it. See the link above (at evilmadscientist) for more information.

What's the point of this? It's a remake of the animated LED ties from the Kraftwerk video "The Robots," which you can see on youtube. If you *haven't* seen that video, don't expect this to make much sense. :)

Thanks for the reply. Keep you mind. Right now I am having problems finding a red shirt and a black tie in my size.

I've wanted one of these for years ... just a shame it costs so much to get a Larson Scanner to the UK, never mind import duty and associated "handling fees"

If I eventually do manage to get one I'd probably make a pouch for the battery on the back of the tie, allowing for switching off and also sew up the back to prevent the danger of pins shorting out the board

The only people who wear ties these days are hardly likely to wear a LED!
