Zoe Weil at College of the Atlantic July 2009

On July 31, 2009, College of the Atlantic (COA) in Bar Harbor, Maine hosted an interactive presentation with Zoe Weil. Zoe has been teaching about interconnected global issues and inspiring people to become solutionaries for a better world for more than 20 years.

Zoe spoke about the 7 Keys to the MOGO (most good) Principle, which will help motivate you to make your own life an expression of your deepest values. The MOGO Principle is a philosophy and path that can create a better world and more joyful, healthy, and engaged lives: when we do the most good and the least harm in our daily choices, acts of citizenship, community, work, and volunteerism, we create a life of inner peace while contributing to the building of a peaceful, sustainable world for all.

In addition to her most recent book, Most Good, Least Harm: A Simple Principle for a Better World and Meaningful Life (2009), Zoe is the author of The Power and Promise of Humane Education for educators; Above All, Be Kind: Raising a Humane Child in Challenging Times for parents, and Claude and Medea: The Hellburn Dogs, Moonbeam gold medal winner for juvenile fiction about two 12-year-olds who become clandestine activists in New York City. She has written numerous articles on humane education and humane living and has appeared frequently on radio and television. She has also served as a consultant on humane education to people and organizations around the world. Zoe received a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a Masters in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania.

A most important lecture - unfortunately, while the content is invaluable, the video itself is lackluster and doesn't truly represent the spark and knowledge Zoe exhibits when one listens to her in a venue. My daughter and I were most fortunate to have attended one of her interactive classes, which was very compelling. I truly recommend her lectures and books to you!
