Ricardo "Richie" Marrero was the moderator for the Q & A session that followed the concert. Percussionist, pianist, arranger, composer & producer, Marrero broke through traditions and barriers with innovative arrangements, electronic instrumentation, and a hair raising swing giving rise to flutist David Valentin and vocalists Angela Bofil and Nancy O'Neil. As a Fania member his production of Jessica featuring Ismael Quintana is legendary. Using elements of funk, jazz, rock, r&b and even disco into his "salsa" arrangements. Musician Director for Ruben Blades' groundbreaking "Seis del Solar" he was to first to bring the synthesizer into Latin music. Here Richie hosts the Q & A portion at Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture.
Aurora - Love the band, However, vocals are sung with feeling the girls are a bit as they say Pitchy.... not too much but it's there.... maybe they need better monitors or ear monitors.... so they won't fall off scale..., otherwise the band is very good...
