I don't understand why he's a conservative.
His book Ghosts of Empire actually seems decent, and it's very critical of empire, including the American empire.
He has every reason to be a liberal person (obviously all the major UK parties are corrupt but that's no reason to pick the bloody Tories).
Oh well, Britons seems determined to swing Tory, I bet a black second generation candidate would have more difficulty being harsh of immigration and welfare.

This is a very decent and honest man who actually believes in Britain with a passion and will make an excellent MP. I do not agree with his party on a lot of things, my being left wing and black, but I can see that this guy will do what is in the best interest of his party. Pity he is not one of us...
