"I Just Want Your Jeans" with Asya from Smoosh on vocals

Lyrics:

My room faces north
But the sun's in the south
I'm just waking up
To the news of my birth
I am a girl and I'm lucky to be here
Whatever that's worth

Like an ostrich I lived
With my head in the sand
Slipped into corners
Sat on my hands
I learnt to stifle shouts and outrage
And feeling deep down

With my chains falling off
And the hope in a friend
Cafes and walkways
And sculptured weekends
I'm getting to love my freedom
I'm getting to like my surroundings

My room faces north
But the sun's in the south
You are far out of reach
Could I be any worth
To some special person?
My mind is unknowing
Of any such love

So I yell out the window
Answer the mail
My diary's quiet
The definitive nail
In my social coffin
I blame all the boffins
For making me fail

For an hour in the park
Or an hour on the couch
With the boy of my choice
If he makes me go 'ouch!'
I will swap all my dumb school prizes
I am open to dark surprises

My room faces north
But the sun's in the south
You are far out of reach
Perfect hand, perfect mouth
The boredom, the freedom
The train on the meadow
Please keep me in dreams

I don't want commitment
I don't want the drama
I just want your jeans
I just want your jeans

  • Whats with all the shit talking? This song is amazing, her voice is HERS. dont rate it or judge it. I think Monet was a weak painter......how about that?

    Exactly.

  • Asy its just an inspiration for all the girls who want to be singers, she is just 18 yearls old and her first almbum came out when se was 12, writting all the songs with her little lister who was 10 at the time. Oh gosh...

  • don't swap your dumb school prizes! brains over boys

  • She has the cutest little lisp, and a beautiful voice. I even like that it's a little rough round the edges

  • I can't believe this is the girl from Smoosh, her voice has changed so much!

It's not a strong voice but there's something so lovely about it.

  • Smoosh are an inspiration to young girls, that they can write music and be more than an image conceived by record execs. But I think Asya's voice has not reached it's full potential. She starts out shaky and muffled at the beginning, but picks up force towards the middle on the loud notes. Still, the soft tones need some refinement. I'll be interested to see what she sounds like in a few years, but right now her voice doesn't sound fully developed to me. Best of luck to her, though.

  • great song. almost better than act of the apostle...

  • Three girls? You obviously haven't heard a lot from GHTG. Please, avoid writing anything at all, you embarrass yourself.

  • true, lets all go watch sesame street if were only listening to music for the annunciation. this girls voice is the least typical, and arguably the best.

  • its freakin awsome!!! its relaxing
