Red Raven Records were odd children's music / animation contraption hybrids released in the 50's.
The animations were printed around the label of the record, and were unique in that the had to loop perfectly so there would be no apparent 'seam' to the animation (as the same "loop" would be seen 78 times per minute).
If none of this is making sense, just take a look at the video and you'll get the idea.
Collected here is video footage of one such record in action, followed by clips of each looping animation backed with a bit of its corresponding audio. All known Red Raven animations are here. I don't have the audio for the very last animation, so if you do, get in touch!
You brought back some amazing memories! I now sing "Me and My Teddy Bear" to my grandchildren!

Possibly the forerunner to the GIF animation.

I had them all until the mirror broke, and unfortunately I gave them away. Brings back many memories!

I had these when I was a kid. For years I thought ravens really were red.

How did you get the animated video to download? I have the CD-rom animated video, but couldn't get it into the format needed to share it. ( I have the records, too, and the mirror carousel. Was AWESOME when I was a kid!!)

Oh please find a 78 speed phonograph so that you can play this at the right speed. That sounds awful!
