  • If i wanted to do this as a job how would i find information about it?

  • Hi, you could find your local careers advisor/office and ask them. Or search "Arborist" on the internet and find a local company to talk to

  • It doesnt always work, every branch is different, it really depends on how much weight is on the end of the branch. If you are not doing a box cut with all cuts lining up, just a top cut with an undercut, just watch for weight shift so your saw doesnt get pinched, then always do your topcut behind your undercut, this prevents your saw getting stuck in the branch your cutting off, sending it crashing to the ground( and when its a $2500 saw you dont want that!)

  • When u cut huge branches like those and u cut from bottom up underneath, how far up do u cut, till u have to cut from the top down?

  • Hi, most of the cuts I am doing are called box cuts. An undercut, followed by 2 side cuts in the same place, followed by the top cut in line with the other cuts. This creates a 'box' in the center of the branch and the theory is the branch should pop off without folding down(as shown in the video with the 1st branch removal). I am constantly looking down the branch to watch for weight shift so not to pinch my saw, then cut 1/4 the diameter undercut and 1/4 side cuts to create the 'box'

  • Box cuts are the best way to ensure the branch pops off........did you have a bobccat to clean the mess up or did you do it by hand?
