The true Australian identity is far different from what some claim. Bible Nationalism means viewing the nation as chosen by God, and believing in the superiority of Anglo-Protestant culture, and encouraging loyal citizenship. This is why there is such an attack on the Australian identity, because the real conflict is between those who hate tradition, order and the Christian religion, and those who partake of this proper patriotism.
The truth is that we have a vast and rich heritage, a grand legacy. There is an awakening among those who yearn to obtain this greatness.
The whole scheme of the opposition is really to withstand the obvious position of influence and honour by their raging against our legacy — but they cannot blot out the rising sun of this commonwealth claiming its birthright.

I have watched all 8 parts and it has been very educational. Thank you very much. As an American believer in Jesus Christ and a reader of the KJV, I have come to see the providence of the English speaking people as bearers of the blessing of Abraham. Seeing more of the Australian perspective broadens understanding of the prophetic unfolding of Israel and even Judah (Hosea 1:12). Bless the Lord!

Australia and Britain are two seperate entities (if you want the best proof, try 16,000 kms). Once upon a time people thought differently but today we are different with seperate destinys. We only followed Britain at the time for political purposes, there were many British here at the time which was why there seemed to be some phychological connection too. But Australia as a country is seperate, always has been and always will be.

Australian cultural history before 1788? We have to look to Britain. It is like taking a little tree and planting it into new ground (i.e. free settlers). The new tree is growing up today, and have our own destiny. In going forward we need to hold onto right ideas from the past, while letting go of anything debilitating. Holding onto a language, religion and culture which grew out of those British roots is good, while Britain is more and more away from its roots. See part 5 of this series.

No matter what happens Australia will adapt overtime to its environment and because that geographic environment involves being the furthest country away from Britain in the distant future we will probably subsequently be more distant from Britain than virtually any other country. I say we overtime embrace this natural evolution and in turn form a gradually more distinctive identity. Largely because of the isolation we have grown faster culturally than any other nation has in 220 years.

The issue is not about "Britishness" or geographical distance. In reality, the world is becoming more connected. American influence on Australia has been huge (seen much tv/movies/internet lately?)
Things are not happening by "chance". Cultural development has not all been in the right direction either. There are a lot of bad ideas around.
Daniel 12:4 "... seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
