Firstly, writing a single song takes at the very least two weeks of hard work, completely ignoring recording and mixing. 10-15 songs an album means a minimum of ~30weeks.
Throw in the fact that the majority of artists spend years, decades, or their lives in obscurity making no money, and we see that entering into the music industry is a huge gamble.
As to your comment about doctors: Why are professors paid upwards of $200,000 when garbage men, a needed part of society, are paid less?

Art is not free, it is the intellectual property of the creator, it is thier mind and hands that created it, and they have every right to make money from it.
If an artist wishes thier art not to be used/displayed in a certain manner, then that is thier right as well.
If you do not like that, then i suggest you create your own art if you are capable
