Rich's 71 GS after replacing the D1 procharger with a bigger F1C. Some fine tuning to be done yet, and then off to the track.
The car was mid 11s on 17" drag radials before.

  • Rich doest want to run slicks on the car, its built for the street. This is a 10 second car easy, but not with 17 inch rims trying to propell over 4000 pounds of Buick.

I would love to see this car with 15 inch rims and slicks pull down a 10, but Rich doesnt want to go that way.

Like I said, its a street car .

  • Well it's a monster for sure no matter how he runs it.

  • Yes, it is.

I tell Rich that its "Angry"

Watch the video responce I made to this clip. its a good representation of the monster(with a little comedy).

By the way, I am the numbnuts in the passenger seat filming.

  • That's awesome don't get me wrong but why spend all that cash to put it in an automatic?

  • Where did you get the kit from and how much did you pay?

  • @TURBOMAGNUM

Nice Buick, I love the Procharger. It sucks the owner wont put on a set of 15" drag radial's to plant down all the power. The very first thing bought for my 550hp 2011 GT500 was a set of 15x10 rims and drag radials because I wanted to plant the power in the lower gears and go for 10's with stock power which could never happen on the stock 20's and this is on a brand new car.

  • Great running GS you have there,Rich!!! I like it!!!!!

  • It's funny to hear folks comment about how it should be faster than 11 seconds. The trap speed of 127 says it all.

    Tire spin.

Easy 10 seconds no doubt if you get the rear to hook up better. A set of 10" DOT drag tires would probably get the car there. That left tire spin can probably be fixed by pre-loading the sway bar a little too. I don't know what kinda posi unit is in there but a detroit locker may make a world of difference too.

But like you said, it's a street car. ;)

  • whats the performance difference between the d1 and the f1. do the f1 make more power with less boost or what?

  • It looks like a real blast to drive! My twin turbo STAGE 1 car weighs 4,700 lbs and is pretty fast. 5 bar, coil overs, hooks up on 335/35/17 Michelin PS-2 Nitrogen filled. You have a beautiful Buick and my respect!

  • Ran my Procharger P600B from 1994 till 2006 and sold it to my friend who's got it on his Corvette. Around 75,000 miles.

  • That must have been like a dream! I can't even imagine a GS as my first car. Hang on to that car forever!

  • I built it from the ground up, took 5 years (got the car when i was 12) and about 15,000 dollars later and it was a brand "new" GS. Got the parts from Cars inc in New Jersey.
