Lost 11 lbs so far, I started at 185lbs, I am now at 174lbs and am hoping to get down to about 165lbs again. My 14 day water fast has begun and will be posting a daily update on my water fast and all the changes my body is going through.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm actually a professional poker player, so my concerns are more related to emotional balance and mental clarity/stability (mistakes are costly, you can only try to prevent them, no do-overs). I should probably just take a week or two off when I'm going to do the fast to also quit smoking. It turns out the nasty habit can be very dangerous while you are on a fast.

  • did you gain weight when you started eating again.

  • @Kloonike So the headache indicated that I was getting rid of that addiction, by breaking the receptors off the cells and then everything was better.

  • @Kloonike Awesome, I am a poker player as well :) although not professional. Yes, it might be easier to take a bit of time off, when I went to a casino while I was on the water fast it was also really tempting to get drinks and then players would order food right next to me which made it harder to stick to it. But you might be able to clear out a lot of the toxins from smoking when you water fast. Also I was "addicted" to coffee and after a few days you get a big headache.

  • @Kloonike I usually try to plan it so that my 2nd day of the water fast falls onto the weekend, because that is usually the hardest. After that it's easy. I work and go to university during the fast. Today I leave to school at 7.20am, don't get back to 9.20pm, 14 hour days. Then at night I have to study and do homework, so probably a 18 hour day. If I can do that, I think most people should be fine working, unless your work requires hard physical work, like construction etc

  • Hi, could you please describe your mental state during a fast? As far as i understand the first few days will be tough, but what about after that? I really want to start a water fast, but I'm worried that I will be unable to work during that time because it's very stressful and requires me to be sharp in every possible way intellectually.

Thanks & keep up the good work!
