  • The "Jingle Bells" tune is actually much more complicated to play than the vast majority of U2's riffs.

  • @twiginthewind - that was then, this is now. Pink Floyd went from hip to dinosaur. So did Elvis, UB40, simple Minds, Puffy... hang around long enough in popular music and the new acts will leave you behind. people will always want something new. And a good thing too or we'd all be down the music hall singing I've got a luvverly bunch of coconuts :)

  • Skill matters, but if it sounds good, it's definetly a start for me. (:

  • I don't care how difficult something is to play. All that matters is the sound of the music. I still found this funny though.

  • @totnesmartin pink floyd is one of the greatest bands of all time

  • Some old Celtic bollocks!

  • Labour supporting smelly gobshite, what happened to your Youtube clip asking people to vote labour you prick?

  • simplicity is the ultimate sophistication...but that is something a bozo will never understand. Funny never the less.

  • Why can't so many people see beneath the surface. This is comedy. Bill Bailey might even like U2, it doesn't matter it's not life advice. I really like U2 and Edge's guitar pre Pop and this is very funny. Bill Bailey is obviously talented musically if you see other stuff by him. And musically With or Without You outro is simplicity but try playing it with the feeling and timing on the track, and it's a beautiful piece when most guitarists would have ruined it with a cliche

  • This is such a musician's complaint. I can't help feeling there's a touch of snobbery or bitterness in there that someone whose sound relies on effects gets to play to tens of thousands of people. As someone who knows nothing about guitars all I can say is that I like the sound that U2 make and I don't care how easy it is to reproduce.

In a way I feel sorry for people who have their music spoiled by knowing too much, like people who work in a sausage factory and so can never enjoy a sausage.

  • Omg, thats exactly what I hear when someone plays a U2 song (dejavu)

  • @totnesmartin yeah but, U2 have always been boring
