The first part of my daily ride from my house in Camden Town to my shop in Covent Garden. This part is from Camden through St Pancras, Somers Town and Bloomsbury to Russell Square.

Recorded by sticking a camera to my head on Friday 14th May 2010 at 10.30am.

  • Also this area has some of the ONLY curb-separated cycle path in London that I've ever seen. Unfortunately, it's also not on the most heavy-traffic routes, where it might count more (although it's better than nothing). I end up cycling it at night, ZERO other cyclists there, and I only travel 400m up it, out of a 14km trip throughout parts of London that need such paths...

  • Walking with my bike near that right turn near the Eurostar the other night I met a nice crackhead needing a light 'for his cigarette'... I wish all drivers could react with the speed he did when getting handed the lighter - great hand-eye coordination when moving lighter-to-pipe-to-mouth, took a quarter second at most, but shame it was for crack! He complimented me afterwards for being polite! London is a funny place.
