Giacomo Puccini wrote the opera "Turandot" in 1924 and it is based on a story by Scheherezade, the well-known Persian Queen and story teller of the "One Thousand and One Nights". The story is about a Persian prince and Chinese Princess.
Calaf is one of many men to fall in love with the beautiful princess, Turandot. Suitors for her hand must correctly answer three riddles, or be put to death. The slave girl, Liù, is in love with Calaf, and begs him not to put his life at risk.

  • О! Это вообще мне очень нравится! Приятное какое пение!!! Браво! и как ей по голосу ария!

  • Pas trop mal, mais manque notable de souplesse et trop de volume sur certains aigus:Il faut s'inspirer de la vielle chinoise...

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • качество воспроизведения ? призвуки шипения ...

  • Que maravillosa voz!!! y "totalmente in mascara"

  • BRAVOOOOO!!!!!!

  • @tadcastria ...I think you are 100% right. When I heard this performance I felt like I understood what Puccini meant. Liu is no glamour puss. She is a humble scared and tragic young girl....and serious. As I said, not the gorgeous perfumey Moffo/Price/Te Kanawa ilk. Actually tebaldi does a nice version of this even though her voice bores me to tears and she sings chronically flat above the staff.

  • You'd have to be a musician to understand why that was "soooo" fantastic. The subtle way she moves the music forward using the rhythm of the words is superb. She also honors the agogic accents in the prose to perfection, never allowing the notes to alter them, even if it gives her the chance to vocally show off. You can't just listen to the sound of the voice if you want to appreciate good singing. In fact it has very little to do with "it."
