@tvnetdude - I do what everyone else does when they are not working.
-
What exactly do you do with the rest of your time?
-
@UtRadioGuy I believe you, but I never hear it happen. One exception is that I did hear one guy sneeze on the air, and I happened to get it on tape. This was during a fundraiser for a non-commercial station, so it's not he could hold it in until he finished his voice break. I wish I had a tape player to hook up to my puter, and could figure out how to record and post to Youtube. That would be so cool! The only other closest thing to that I've seen is a TV weather reporter with laryngitis.

Ok, the question is what else is there to do at the radio station when you show is done (in a half hour).. THere is no show prep. DO you do your own sales? Do you do maintenance at the transmitter?
They use VT for some stations I listen to, and they even use the same guys and change their names, like the listeners are morons. They VT two stations and do the highest rated one live.

@tvnetdude - I do traffic in the mornings & afternoon on 3 different stations, production, and VT.

I guess what I meant was how do you make a living working a half hour a day? I now understand why no one is getting into radio anymore.

@tvnetdude - I work in radio FULL TIME. (5 hrs a day) I get a very good salary. That's why I've stayed in it radio for over 20 years. Because you can make very good money working very few hours.
