Braces/Jaw Surgery Vlog 5 - Week 37 Update

I started orthodontic treatment 37 weeks ago and will be having jaw surgery within the next 12 months. I will video blog from time to time to let you see how it's progressing!

I am being treated at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, which, conveniently, is where I live.

hello amanda, i am 27 and had my braces 2 weeks ago! it really has not been as bad as i thought, i hope you are coping well! how do you feel about your op?? i am have my bottom jaw broken, and chin moved back :S

@TheSweetg83 Glad you're adjusting to your braces, at 2 weeks I was still very grumpy about it all! I'm feeling mixed about the op; I'm nervous (naturally) because it's a big op, not looking forward to the subsequent liquid diet which sounds so boring, impatient because I can't plan next summer properly until I know what's going on, curious to see how different I look post-recovery, am still fascinated by the whole process (I mean, they're taking both of my jaws off!! How crazy?) :)

@Gtrevolutionmad I'll try and do a little 'morphing' video this week, to see the movement in the last 9m, top and bottom. I was taking weekly pics at first but I've been so busy recently I haven't kept it up! Some days I need to see the comparisons to stay motivated! Today is one of those days.... :(

@longbeach49ers Still not sure, they predicted 18m, I've now done 9m and there are only a couple of teeth that still need to move into place. Once they are all in place I'm not sure how long I'll have to wait for a surgery 'spot' but I will definitely be asking the ortho for his opinion next week! :)

why are you getting jaw surgery? i may have to get surgery because i have a very severe click in my jaw!
