The BAU travels to Boston when the Boston Ripper, one of Agent Hotchner's first cases, which involved one of the most notorious murderers in the history of New England, returns after 10 years. The team interview the only victim that survived, George Foyet, to find clues about the killer, but as they investigate they discover that Foyet himself is the Ripper. After he is arrested and the case seems to be close, Foyet escapes from prison.
