ICE 4205 (ex SP 7240) and a KCS GP38-2 lead a transfer cut over the UP through KC's West Bottoms. A very nicely tuned P5 horn!! 8-15-08.

  • beautifull horn I just bought one of these oldcast SP P5s

  • I love those P5 almost sound like a K5LLA or a M horn. I remember seeing this location on a Pentrex VHS, Best of the Midwest Vol III

  • thanks I sort of figured that was the case

  • It's definitely not an M5, but it definitely is a very nice Old Cast P5 with a gull-wing manifold. If you look closer at the top of the locomotive, note the longer bells and manifold arrangement. An M horn has short, stubby bells as opposed to the long bells on a P horn.

  • Reminds me of a Leslie S-3J recording I've heard. This does sound more like an M horn. Very nice though!

  • yea that has to be an m5
