This songs to me says there are things to hold on to that is worth your time in life, and letting things get in the way of that can make you delusional to everything that you could be focused on that could be taken away in an instant. Some things or people may be there for you, but if you let other things that frighten, anger, or brings sorrow to you, you may lose them forever; this is a burden a lot of carry and don't realize it until it is all but too late to change, so it all fades like ash.
