Was this in response to the Teamsters video wanting to abolish the camp car? Those cars in that video were in pretty poor condition.

Hmmm... can't decide, I have seen and talked to someone from a rail gang and (they) have never complained. Guess it is something (they) have to get used to. Camp cars ARE filthy... this is what they SHOULD look like but NS is WAY TOO CHEAP (concerned about making money and not about employees well-being) to even care about making a move. Support the MofW brothers and sisters.

Because Camp Cars are for people, one would think that they are rebuilt or replaced every 10 years, just like the Auto Racks, and auto racks only carry fragile merchandise.
Camp cars provide safe, healthy, logistically convenient and dependable lodging for Norfolk Southern employees.
NS operates in many isolated locations where motels and restaurants are not easily accessible to work areas. In these areas, camp cars are the best and, in some cases, the only practical alternative. With camp cars readily available at the end of a workday, employees don't have to venture long distances in unfamiliar environments to seek lodging and dining facilities.
