Bergenfield Garbage Truck Fire

The Bergenfield Fire Department was dispatched to the dead end of Levitt Avenue for a garbage truck on fire. Upon arrival, units found light smoke coming from the hopper of the borough truck. Engine 744 deployed a booster line and members pulled the garbage from the hopper to wet down any smoldering trash. Units were cleared in 25 minutes.

If your garbage truck is on fire it is ok to dump the load, we actually had that as a topic in one of our recent safety meetings. Find a parking lot or something and dump it. Much better than burning up a $200,000 truck!

Anyone remember "Mrs. Mack" who worked the 11pm-7am "Nightshift" Patient Registration Area at the HOLY NAME HOSPITAL Emergency Room #8307in Teaneck, NJ 1982-2006? She Passed Away on January 7, 2008. Mrs. Mack was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren. She was a Very Hardworking Person who had experienced alot in her life.The Family will Always Cherish The Memories Of Their Mother. No matter how difficult things got; the family pulled through it all.

the driver should use the packer blade to scoop the trash out..bascially run the blade backwards and push the garbage out onto the street so those fire wizards can look for condoms, dirty magazines and shit like that!
