Excellent. This man has a first-rate pianistic facility -- something I've become convinced cannot be TAUGHT.
I'd like, however, to hear more dynamic contrast, greater awareness of the "inner voices" and less use of the pedal at strategic intervals.
De Pachmann, Cortot, Sandro Russo and Rupert Egerton-Smith give highly imaginative readings of this challenging masterpiece. With the exception of Russo, they are less accurate, but more intriguing than most of the others.
