In many ways the United States will benefit from the revolution that president Obama started;healthcare, education and the environment will be improved substantially.I hope that the Dutch government will follow the huge improvements in US politics.

the research and funding that led to the internet was all government. do you believe the internet has not created prosperity? cellphone technology is due to military research. the support of medical research has created who knows how many cures. do you think these things don't help?

do you believe infrastructure investments are useless?

that's what all this is: investments. $4 billion isn't chump change, but chances are the return-on-investment here will far outweigh the temporary cost

that's why even though the conditions for the grants are pretty strong, they are still very general

for example, one of the conditions is that the states have to have high standards for students, and that they help students meet those standards. it doesn't matter HOW they help children meet those standards. it is UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL STATES how to do it

and in fact that's probably part of the design: competition, and having the states come up with novel ideas that all the states can learn from

The Gov't can't create prosperity but it can Ensure it. Taxes are the way of the Land. No functioning nation can do without them. So I guess we agree on that.

I'll name a couple, closed gitmo, overturned torture tactics, ended the war in iraq, passed a stimulus that ensured the stability of America, Instituted a number of programs cash for clunkers one of them to get Americans buying again, Passed legislation to stop the criminal credit card companies from cheating the public, and many more, you asked for One I figured i'd give you a little more than that.

guantanamo bay is open, obama's only plans of closing it involve moving it stateside. We are still in Iraq. The stimulus is a failure, as I said before the gov can't create prosperity. Cash for clunkers was a stupid idea that actually hurts poor people who would have bought those cars (they can't afford new ones). Credit card companies weren't cheating people, they just weren't smart enough with their debt to stay out of trouble. I pay attention to my credit card agreements to avoid charges.

Luxe-closed GITMO, really?
-overturned torture tactics?-PC crap got us Ft. Hood.
-Iraq? The Surge ended that before the election...
-Stability in America? Unemployment beyond 10.2% and rising...etc...

Throiwing money at a problem is what the Dems are good at, not solutions.
School issues-
-Am I dressed in the latest Idol gear?
-Cellphone fully charged?
-Am I in the right clic? etc...

Until they address the quality of the educ, and the PC crap, we don't have a chance.

Yea And We All Know How things turn Out when Republicans try to Resolve things.... They Make the Problems Worse, We Dems aren't perfect but We try at least with the best interests of the American People in Mind and NOT* Special Interests. I'd rather side with the lesser of two Evils.
