Autometer Oil Pressure sending unit going bad. This is caused by vibrations from the motor killing the sending unit. The sending unit is installed directly on the oil filter housing. I guess my next one will have to be remotely mounted somewhere else.

  • you didnt hook it up right did you tap the wire or did you get something to put on an oil line

  • Tap the wire? You do know that Electric oil pressure gauges are completely seperate from the car, right? The only wires you have to run are from the sending unit to the gauge and a power and ground for the gauge.

  • yea bad oil pressure sensor

    a 5$ part

  • It is not a $5 part. More like $30 at the cheapest.

  • Actually it is $11 at AutoZone.

I had to replace mine because of a leak.

    Part Number: PS278

  • A stock replacement sensor is not what is used with the Autometer gauge.

  • The gauge was probably going bad because of the gay music at end of video nice shocker sticker tho and best way to fix problem is replace motor mounts

  • Hey was this the sending unit for sure? My gauge is doing the exact same thing so I want tknow what I need to replace.

  • thats what i ment some require wire splicing some do not and wire ones dont always work
