Clark Air Base,R.P.(HOG-1990) Happening on the Green & more

One of the extra special things about life in the Clark Air Base/Subic Bay communities was the fun times to be enjoyed during a special event Known as "THE HOG." It was Clark's Happening on the Green. Of course many community events occurred at Subic. But, the HOG somehow turns out to be the event I documented in this 9 minute piece. Another event that was rather new, was the Clark Air Base Chili-cookoff.

Ok, Ok, all of this must sound quite routine and boring by today's standards for things to do.
But thousands of families overseas, away from home can become very creative, when armed with a remarkable tool like the inovative staff of a Morale, Welfare & Recreation Division (MWR)..

Let me take this time to THANK ALL M-W-R STAFFERS WHEREEVER THEY MAY BE, IN WHATEVER BRANCH OF SERVICE THE SERVED, OR CONTINUE TO SERVE... THANKS!!!
While the "wild soundtracks" of kids laughing and folks screaming on rides has been overdubbed with production music, the message of "Goodtimes in Paradise" is not lost.
The original tapes of the chili-cookoff have been located. And I am presently editing a FULL version of that event, to give even more insight
to how we all enjoyed the Philippines experience while it lasted.
This is how many of us shared great times during our stay in paradise~~~until Mt.Pinatubo bidded most of us GOODBYE...

The HOG or, "Happening on the Green" was an example of the Clark Air Base community at its fun-loving best.

The HOG and annual base Chili Cook-off were very special events that thousands of on-base and off-base residents cherished and will certainly remember.

I am putting the finishing touches separate video feature that covers the 1989 Chili-Cook-off.

OMG I remember that skateboard ramp next to Burger King @ 4:16 . On our way to the burger king, me and my dad and other siblings saw this ramp. I even touched it and walked on it with my siblings. I told them I wish I could skateboard here. Then he got us value meals with free "heroes in a half shell" badge or suction cups back in 1989 :).

Does anyone know Gary Dale in Air Force in Clark Base? Im looking for my father and my mother name is Josephine if that rings a bell to someone who was with my mom in those days.. And my father name is Gary dale, thats what my mom told me. 1984 to 1988 he was station around there but I know in 1987 he was there. I was born in1988

I flew into Clark International Airport last December, spent a month in Pampanga, PI. Have to say, that place looks really rundown, kind of spooky and abandoned at night.
