Some exonerated inmates are asking Governor Rick Perry to declare a moratorium on executions in the state.

They presented him with a petition with nearly 6,000 names asking for an independent commission to study the state's death penalty process.

They point to the case of Cameron Willingham, who was executed in 2004.

He was convicted of setting his house on fire and killing his three children.

But, now forensics experts are questioning the evidence used against him.

Perry's been under fire for replacing members of the Texas Forensic Science Commission just before they reviewed a report critical of the investigation.
