The original version of "Ceremony" recorded in March 1981. (The better version, in my opinion. Hahaha.) There are subtle differences between the two versions of the songs, but I believe the differences in this version make it better than the re-recorded version. :)

It's a shame that a life had to be taken by such depression. You can look back and listen then feel the pain that Ian was going through. It's hard to determine that up front. Life is so precious and a talent like Ian is sorely missed. Imagine what Joy Division could have been with him if he lived. New Order is great and I love them, but JD could've changed the landscape.

Was SHOCKED when I heard this while waiting to eat at a family restaurant not far from where I live in smallish Halifax,NS,Canada,on the Atlantic,in 2009. Hadn't heard it in decades,only a JD live version I taped from a friend's lp back in the 80s. Thanks.
