The song was developed from a picking exercise that Kerry Livgren used.His wife Vicci overheard it and commented that he should come up with some lyrics for it.

There are 2 lead singers for this original line-up. The guy with all the hair sang lead on a handful of songs and on another handful they traded back and forth. The other guy did the bulk of the singing (still does) and in his prime was in my opinion the best singer in the solar system!
