Failed Republican State Senate candidate and Tea Party activist Rabbi Nachum Schifren (the "Surfing Rabbi") came to Britain to support Islamophobic campaign group the EDL. When the EDL and SIOE protested against Harrow Mosque in 2009, six local Rabbis and a local Jewish councillor joined counter-protests to support the Mosque. The Community Security Trust - the group that organises British Jews to defend themselves against racist violence, described the EDL as dominated by people who previously made up National Front marches, and described Nachum Schifren's support for the EDL as "utterly deluded".

Nachum Schifren chose to join an EDL protest AFTER he'd been e-mailed videos of EDL organisers making Nazi salutes, posing with Nazi flags, with tattoos of Swastikas and emblems of the Nazi groups Combat 18 and Blood & Honour, and screen-captures of Facebook pages showing EDL activists supporting Fascist groups like the BNP, NF and KKK. Rabbi Schifren was also e-mailed TV news reports showing EDL supporters who'd been jailed for making chemical weapons and for advocating burning Synagogues and murdering Jews!

This audio sequence is from a video of a man who challenged Nachum Schifren at London's world-famous Speaker's Corner, pointing out to Nachum Schifren that Old Testament law advocates the murder of Apostates (people who turn away from a religion) and gays (as in God's slaughter at Sodom and Gomorrah) in much the same way as practiced by extremist interpretations of Sharia Law. When Rabbi Shifren is asked whether as a Rabbi he agrees if "GOD WAS RIGHT TO COMMAND TO KILL THE HOMOSEXUALS?" Nachum Schifren answers (hoarse voice with American accent) "THAT'S RIGHT".

Nachum Schifren's justification for his bigotry is to claim it's a moot point because these laws are not practised in the modern world - but in fact the Orthodox religious community broadly opposes the liberalisation of LGBT rights in Israel, presumably because they believe in the same nonsense that Rabbi Schifren does (fortunately the vast majority of Israeli citizens disagree with them). Nachum Schifren also told the media he opposes multiculturalism - the same multiculturalism that encourages European host communities to welcome Jews!
