My computerised Rubik's Cube solver, written in Microsoft XNA/C#. The algorithms used are the ones posted by Dan Brown in "How to solve a Rubik's Cube".

  • whats the software

  • hi, it's my own software which i created myself, but i haven't released it publicly (yet)

oh btw, yes! it is the old colour scheme, it's based on a cube from about 20 years ago

  • Nice. What does the solver do if it's impossible to solve? (Since you're allowing setting of the colours, it could be impossible).

Could I have the .x file or whatever for a cube? I don't know how to create cubes with rounded edges like that. Did you see my 11X11 XNA animation? Haven't worked on that in a while...

  • Ha, there's no validation checks on whether the cube's solvable, so the program just crashes. I really should sort that out...

Yeah, sure- each since "cublet" (or each single 1x1 face) is made of two .fbx files (one for the coloured part, and one for the charcoal/black edge). What's the easiest way to get them to you? And yeah, your animation is rather cool!

  • @mdwael No, it's actually 20. Check out cube20 dot org.

  • @yip924 26

  • @Mostwantedo 26 moves

  • @MonsterBuddy10 Actually, the program solves the cube in a few hundredths of a second. I've just made it output at this speed so that you can actually see what it's doing!

  • @ustube27 i move the cube way faster because i use finger tricks so this is slow to me

  • @MonsterBuddy10 if this was realy fast how would you be able to tell what its doing?

  • A Rubic's cube can be solved from any legal position with maximum of 20 moves :P

  • it is proved that at most 20 turns is needed only

  • Nice choice in songs

  • i can solve a rubiks cube way faster
