In this tower hang a very fine 28cw 10, cast by Gillett and Johnson in 1925.

This is the front four of the back eight being raised in peal for a wedding.

It's a shame all ten or the back eight weren't being rung, but even so even these four bells sound lovely!

  • How do you feel about Gillet & Johnston bells?

  • I think they all sound lovely, and the bells here handle and "go" beautifully. I've only ever rung on a few G&Js in my time, but these are my favourite, although I bear a strong loyalty to Whitechapel. HE HE HE! =]

  • HO HO HO

  • Lol These are G and J

  • we should adopt a ho ho ho for any good bells not just Taylors!

  • Here, here! : )

  • I seen this cathedral last year when visiting manchester

  • I didn't find them at all mushy, but perhaps when you ring all 10 they are a bit different. Fabulous bells.

  • I just came back from ringing here on an open day! It was great. Lol we rang the back five, so that was my heaviset bell, the second, which was 12cwt. Was great. A video will follow soon!

  • i think most of the ringers must have been on holliday...
