Horse Slaughter vrs Humane Euthanasia

This video i made today with intentions on it heading to Washington to show my Senators and Reps the truth about what all is involved in horse slaughter.The pro slaughter side will make you beleive that horse slaughter is humane euthanasia...It is not.....In this video i have footage of everything that happens to our American horses on their journey to the slaughter house and at the end it will show you what "IS" humane euthanasia.

A minor exception to this is that most of the horse slaughtered for pet or human consumption, are NOT sick, old or crippled! And they are fattened up at a feedlot before slaughter, like cattle. Most of the horses, horrifyingly, are young and healthy, throwaways from the big & small breeders, families losing interest or their jobs, stolen horses, etc. Your horse has a high probability of ending up as food if you auction your horse!! Always ask for a vet reference and check facilities to sell.

My horses get a sedation once(twice depending how bad their teeth get) they still know whats going on and are fully aware, Which is better- a death thats quick and painless and you barely know,or one that takes longer and you are fully aware? Well the difference between slaughter and euthanasia is simple. Slaughter is directly tied to the marketability of other horses. This is why the horse market tanked so badly after the U.S banned horse slaughter. The base level was gone and that just put more horses into the hands of kill buyers. The horses that did not get picked up by the kill buyers the first time. Endure some abuse that made the "conceived" abuse that was "supposedly" happening in the states look like Sunday church

The slaughter horses you show probably went to pet food or by-product use, for human consumption, they are usually fat & sleek from being feedlotted, like cattle. Which makes it even more horrible, as they are usually sound & young!!

Regardless, though, this is a wonderful vid, and horses are out pets and should be treated as a beloved pet at the end, same compassion as for a dog or a cat.

Well done, do more like this please, educate people!!!!

@appyluv actually, the correct way to euthanize a horse is by sedating first. nothing about slaughter is humane and if it weren't for the text limit on comments, I would go into detail.

Hate to tell you guys but euthansia is actually not that humane. Its a chemical released into the animals body that painfully stops the vitals. That takes minutes to react. Where actually a bullet to the head is the humanest,quickest way.A few seconds. They barely hear the shot and drop as soon as it enters the cranium. Now tell me which is more human, minutes or seconds?
