Sonny shows his superb ability to play with timing and rhythm during a flow. The focus is only on the hand as target and I believe during this clip, there are over 20 hits that land ... and yes, I am trying to hit him too.
i truly envy you. i am filipino with visayan roots. i cannot find a master who can train me. the sad part is my grandfather was an escrima practitioner. he died without passing on his skills to any of his family.
Thanks for posting..His memory and teaching lives on..This is a side of my friend Sonny I'm only recently getting to fully appreciate. How Ironic that Sonny and I knew each other through night clubbing/dancing but not each other's martial arts life. When I finally learned of this aspect of his life I tried to contact him to say Hi after relocating to the EastCoast. Before I got the chance to visit he was gone. whch I learned of by chance scanning through one of my fav martial arts mags.
Thanks for posting Maija. You're one of the few left carrying on the Visayan legacy. We are all grateful that you share these little treasures with us. S.Atlas

Good to see you are still doing this. I remember you 9 years ago at Bernie's in a seminar by Luo De Xiu.
You havent aged a day. Way to go. Keep the blades alive!

Thanks for sharing that Maijia. I'd always wanted to see how your teacher moves. He actually reminds a lot of my teacher in Shanghai.
