An old Heidelburg printing press. I was told by the man in the video that it was from 1863, however a number of people have comented that it is much newer then that. He also said tht it was not originally morized and that those were added later.

  • When I was 5-6 in the early 60's, my Dad (Barney Salvisberg) used to bring me to his work in San Francisco. Joe Tacchi (Buckley and Curtain Printing) had a Heidelberg press. One of the great treats for a kid was slowly feeding the idler roller against the leather belt and heaving back on the lever and ratcheting up the pressure to get it up to full speed. My Dad also ran a Linotype machine for Manchester Publications.
