Weird (I guess).
Most of this video looks like it was filmed in NYC, but about 3:32 there is a shot of a rock in a stream that looks exactly like the rocks from the shores of the river Rhine. Anybody have any trivia about this? Just curious.
God bless your soul Mic. It's hard not to cry every time I listen to his voice, his perfectly honest talent. What a great loss.

Such a great shame he passed, his talent and warmth are missed by many. At least he left us with a superb solo album to remember him by, and with people like Glen and Marketa covering his songs live he will live on in some way. R.I.P Mic

It was NYC. He went back to where he was born as he was born in NY.. Lisa Hannigan was there. Somewhere's there's another video of this trip and they take the subway to Coney Island near the end. If I'm not mistaken, Glen Hansard was on this trip.
The year before his death he had had a motorbike accident which injured his head and neck. That next year, he had the fall in Holland. Maybe it was too much for a body to bear. Two head injuries.

He fell on some slippery stairs and busted his dome. Sad way to go.

he was touring with the Waterboys in Holland. When he was out after the gig he fell down some steps and banged his head. He passed away after ten days in a coma. His friends worked to finish the album he was recording, and 'Skylarkin' was released on his first anniversary.
