I think the elderly should be encouraged to get a computer and get help learning to use it, as it opens up lives

@twish1999 I agree, because most of them think it's to difficult when it isn't! My grandpa saved money up and bought the one my husband made. I guess in a way we did encourage it lol. He did open up, and had more to talk about than what was on t.v.

Thank you so much your story brings out all of the good things that can come from combating loneliness etc and I am so pleased that you did this for your Grandpa and pleased to know how it has been a benefit for him. Loved the bit where your grandma found him in the early hours of the morning still looking at the screen on the computer, this is often the case as I said, so I hope that he will continue to get a lot of fun and interest.

@geriatric1927 - It made my day to see you comment on my video! :) Sadly, my grandpa passed away in 2008; however, I feel that he's in a better place now. It made me happy to see him doing something else, and being able to see what is going on in the world. He was a big news watcher and book reader and this was just great for him.
