Known as Valakhilya (heavenly spirits that were produced from the Creator's Body). This is a combined series beginning from downward dog and moving to single leg king pigeon posture. It should not be attempted until eka pada rajakapotasana has been mastered (single leg dove or pigeon pose).

  • As you increase the flexibility of your low back this will create flexibility in the upper region. Many times we think of having the former first. That said, however, there are exercises to improve neck mobility. Many of these relate to the shoulders, mid-spine as well as the upper arms.

A lot tension is stored in the neck but it is coming from the shoulders, arms and hips. Check out my website (re: the yoga way) for the CD: Stilling the Mind. There are exercises for the neck and shoulders.

  • @TheYogaWay I will post soon a video on exercises for the neck, shoulders, etc. Because one central thing left out from many physiotherapy exercises is the BREATH! Still, the CD program will help as well.

Thanks for your post. Always good to hear from someone searching for ideas or ways to improve themselves.

  • Maybe I can understand what rolandsc means by the oxymoron.......

I am very happy with this wonderful video.

You demonstrate an excellent backward flexibility of the backbone, not only in the lower (lumbar) part but also in the upper (thoracic) part.

  • @yogibeertje2 Ah....I understood it as compact...re: keeping it all together while trying to take it all apart....Namaste.

  • Hi, Thanks for your comment and view. RE: "wonderful tight back bend" That's sort of an oxymoron.

    Namaste
