Forget everything you think you know about Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB's). Sure, they offer an incredibly dry, stable ride you'd expect from a RIB. But, the similarities end there! When you're through deflating an "ordinary" RIB, you're still stuck with a boat hull that takes up as much space as any ordinary boat hull.

A RIB also weighs at least 50% more than a comparable length CRIB making transportation and handling more difficult. The fiberglass hull and gelcoat of a RIB are much more susceptible to damage from rocks or reefs than the incredibly strong Porta-Bote hull of a CRIB. And finally the CRIB has much more interior volume for the same length than a RIB so you can carry more gear.

  • We guess that's why so many military forces and rescue agencies around the world are now using the crib. Unlike an ordinary RIB, when finished it takes up about the same room as a surfboard. Easy to store and with our new patented battery operated blower it now opens up in less than 3 minutes! We guess it's just useless.

Always interested to hear from an expert.

  • If it's not a crib it's just a rib, If it's not a rib it's just a dinghy, If it's not a dinghy it's just useless. Which that boat is!

  • @MrJohnnyman101

It's a RIB that does what no other RIB can do. It can be folded to 6 inches flat for storage and transport.

  • Please look again. Porta-Bote offers only the same colors as always. It's the SOTAR inflatable material that's orange.

  • OK so just when I thought Porta Botes couldn't get any cooler I see this video. Are these a product of porta bote?

  • @sheetmetalmaster Yes. Thanks for the compliment.
