it isn't exactly bad, it's a mechanism designed to identify cell that aren't your own. If something doesn't have your specific Rh your body will attack it because it is either a bacteria, virus, parasite, etc. If you're getting an organ transplant or and blood transfusion it causes problems if the blood or tissue have different markers.

There are many "Rh" antigens, but the one you are thinking of is the Rh factor, otherwise known as the D antigen. I am Rh pos which means I possess the D antigen.

No it's not. If you become pregnant your OB/GYN should give you a shot of Rhogam at 28 weeks, and then after the baby is born, if the baby is Rh+, then you have to have another shot of Rhogam. This will protect any antibodies which formed after the first pregnancy entering the fetal circulation in subsequent pregnacies. Other than that you should be fine. I am Rh- and have had three children all of who are Rh+ and all three pregnancies and within 72 hrs ahve had the Rhogam shot.
