please explain to me how do you turn it on.... sorry for my bad english :P

@donperry1 or whatever mixture, just add Red iron oxide to stabilize it. Aluminum loves RIO
-
Can you try a mixture for me?
it's 63/32/4/1
That's kno3/sugar/aluminum/red iron oxide
the 1% RIO supposed to stabilize the burn. I'd be VERY HAPPY if you try this, please

Follow some comments, but do a dynamic test....thermite shall rain down upon thee!!
-
add very small amount of titanium ;-) it will not change burning of KNO3+sucrose and it adds nice white tail :)
-
PUT IRON OXIDE INTO IT!!!
-
Very cool. Did you put iron oxide in it too?
-
the one at 1 minute reminded me of those strobe things

1:00 Strobe Rocket!

Have you tried using a higher KN ratio? lower KN usually results in chuffing in any fuel grain type,. Use a longer pipe or smaller hole and let us see plz :)
How you measured Isp for your rocket?
CrossoverManiac 4 months ago
@CrossoverManiac I don't believe I stated the Isp of these rockets as I didn't measure the thrust, but it is found by dividing the effective exhaust velocity by 9.8 which can be found by dividing the total impulse of the rocket by the mass of the fuel in kilograms.

I can´t imagine these PVC-pipes holding that pressure - did you put a stell casing or so in it? Looks like very high pressure in there.
DavidRothe 4 months ago
@DavidRothe The PVC would not be able to handle much more than 400 - 500 PSI for any extended period of time but the casing can handle that pressure since it is only acting on it for a few seconds.

hey man love to vid epic. the surcrose, is that in syrup form if not where do u get it, secondly what is the coposition of hte first one if u added 15% al dose that mean u make 100 grms then add 15 grms Al?
eamonshortftw 11 months ago
@eamonshortftw Yes, that was to illustrate the poor combustion of the extremely fuel rich propellant as it had a lot of carbon and aluminium residue in the motor casing after the burn.
