Just because it is old doesn't make it irrelevent. Old rap is amazing like krs and rakim. Just like old hard rock like acdc and van hallen are amazing. Nowadays, I'd say mainstream rock kicks the shit out of mainstream rap. As far as undereground goes rap has it won.

Well you gathered the wrong punk then, some good punk is featured on the SLC punk sound track, the good ol late 80's punk, ya alot of it is just watered down shit, but stuff like bad religion and the original stuff is pretty awesome. Either way metal is kinda dead, lamb of god is like one of the few bands that is keeping it alive, I love metal but its not the only music out there

@timcrow420 belive me buddy ive been doing it alot longer than that. i play guitar,bass piano drums and harmonic.and from what ive gathered,punk does not take alot of musical talent,now mind maybe theres a few punk bands that have meaningful lyrics but i havent heard any. so what im trying to get at is metal or in this case has way more talent than shitty ass punk which usually consists of 3 chords and lyrics about sniffing glue or not wanting to go to school.
