This is a time-lapse video of our school's CANstruction build for 2011. CANstruction is a canned food sculpture design competition supporting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. We chose to build "SpongeBob CanPants" sitting on top of a base with our school initials spelled on it. The build took about 12 hours over two days, and each second in this video represents about 5 minutes of real-time.

Big thanks go out to Onni Group, who sponsored us to the tune of $3,500 to help buy the cans of food that made up the sculpture!

Other CAN facts:
Total number of cans used = 4,678
Sculpture size (base) = 2.2 m (L) x 1.2 m (W) x 0.5 m (H)
Sculpture size (Bob) = 1.3 m (L) x 0.9 m (W) x 1.8 m (H)

  • Ms. Wan looks busy... or is that ms wan?

  • Nicely done everyone. That's the kind of can-do attitude I'd expect from RHS.
