The tower with the clock is the tower that contains Great Paul, the heaviest bell in the UK. I enquired inside the cathedral and they thought that Great Paul was out of action for some reason. I mentioned that I wanted to film Great Paul and the woman looked worried and told be that I'd have to see the chapter house if I wanted to do any filming, presumably so they could extract some money from me. The fact I wanted to film from the outside and only wanted to know whether Great Paul would actually be rung seemed irrelevant. It costs £11 to get into St Pauls!

Is that the sound of the full twelve I can hear near the end of this video?

Great Paul is rung at 13:00 hours every day where Great Tom strikes the hours.
