Due to higher demand for corn, majority of 3rd world countries are facing a food crisis. Price of food has gone up as more and more land is converted into corn and sugar, ingredients used for ethanol. That means less land is used for other food products such as wheat. In India, they have banned exports of rice, causing price of rice to go up as well. Who the heck is going to use ethanol and what companies are willing to upgrade their gas stations and who has cars that needs ethanol?

@orthodoxbeat same here, i never boy garbage bags, instead i use bins that works with the standard large size groceries bag. and its a lot thinner than a garbage bag too.

well, those terraformed ilands in dubai are artificial and are having problems not to be washed away (that's at least what you hear.. I've lived in the emirates for over 10 years and had a part time job in a special civil enginering underground construction company)

I HAVE A QUESTION:

I know it's really good not to use plastic bags.

And I know i should bring a non disposable bag to put my groceries in..

BUT!

i always use the plastic bags i get from the market to put the garbage in, that way i don't have to buy plastic garbage bags.

so.. hum.. what's better? is there any other type of container that is not a plastic bag and that i can put the garbage in and that is green*? That way i'll never have to use plastic bags ever again :)
