In this Blender (2.56) tutorial - I will teach you how to create the famous "Depth of Field" effect. It is really easy once you know what you're doing and when you don't, it's a nightmare.
For those of you that don't know what Depth of Field is, then I'll explain. Watch ANY second of any scene of any movie and look at the background/foreground. In most cases, the foreground is in good quality but in some scenes it's the background in good quality. Look at whatever the camera isn't looking at and notice how it is very blurry. That is depth of field. Depth of field isn't just an effect - it occurs in real life aswell. This is all because of where the eye is focusing.
Anyway, today, I will teach you how to make that effect using simple composits in the node editor.
Thanks
