@Photoncapturer - It depends who you are praying to, what sort of prayers you are praying and how you are praying. Effective prayers take a lot of thought and work and not many bother with that. It is small wonder then that prayers have low impact on life. I'd encourage you to make a careful study of prayer. Peace.

@aerycksmusic Praying is fine so long as you understand that the laws of the universe will probably not be stopped or annulled for your benefit. Natural laws being those that we all live with irrespective of whatever religious aspect you choose to constrain yourself by.

my dog understand sit down, he doesn't understand go make me a tea. what we understand now about how we may have gotten here. we would not have understood 5000 year or so ago. But we would have understood the garden and seven day story as how we got here. Before you kick out God you may wish to think of how backward were were 5000 years ago.
