@tonchibear I agree that the Stuart family owns the UK, but we're not paying them a pence. Anyway, when we dump the inbred Windsors, they won't suffer. They'll still have Canada and the Isle of Wight and the BAT.

@acr08807 Because, as mentioned, technically the UK belong to them...it's their property. If you remove the monarchy you are giving the ok for someone to take your land and home from you because they feel you shouldn't have it anymore. Also, the British monarchy costs 50 pence a year to maintain; pretty sure you spent more than that last year to support a dead beat celebrity.

@djcrookify achaly they do come to briten for the "royal" part of us. if toy thank about it, why are americans not visiting french or german castles? buse in the United Kingdom real monarks use them, and it's not just a musium.

i dont think the only reason the Queen is kept is because of tourism... she is the biggest british simbol and she is the stronger monarch in the world, basically i she her as the british people strenght. she lives for her people and 60 years of yourself for a country has to be rewarded... at least respect her. She is a Queen.

@tonchibear Do you have any idea how much taxpayer money the royals spend each year. They're good for tourism, of course, so we can't do away with the monarchy entirely, but I see no reason we can't outsource it to , say, the Swedish royal family, thus saving hundreds of millions of pounds each year.

I'm ashamed of my country sometimes (America). You do realize the Queen has assets, rights? Assets older than the US. What the Royal Families of Europe spend is a fraction of what they bring in.

But what does America know about assets, we just spend till we're broke.
