I've never been a big fan of Amazon because I always get my books used cheaper at Ebay's Half. Got a college text book for $30, list price was over $130.
I took advantage of their free gift wrap promotion that they had once. The gift wrap was put on very sloppy and was torn in a few places. I doubt it happened in shipping because the box it came in could fit my shoes and was filled with packing material.

I doubt it was an actual mistake in the true sense. They just needed to make up an excuse as to not wreck their PR any further
