  • Any idea on the gains in hp/tq with the mach-x AND the long tube headers? Just a ballpark would be great. But with headers the catback is actually quieter? Any drone from this exhaust? What about with headers?

    Thanks!

  • @tmedlin07

the catback should be a little quieter w/ headers....but I have not heard it in person. The system I have has a VERY small drone...at around 2000 rpm at light throttle on the highway in 5th/6th. It's not that bad. VERY tough to find an exhaust w/ headers that wont drone a little. WITH NO headers, the SOLO kits do NOT drone at all.

As far as power gains, not sure about just with the exhaust, but with a good intake & tune (and headers, exhaust), gains should be around 50-60rwhp.

  • @absolutemotionvideo whats droning?

  • @Amirnake hard to exactly explain it in words, but at low rpms it's kind of like a loud vibration that rings through the car...it hurts the ears. In these cars it happens around 1800 rpms... on the highway at part throttle when you're in 5th or 6th. Doesn't happen w/ stock exhaust...only some aftermarket kits and/or headers.

  • @absolutemotionvideo Ohhhh Yes I know exactly what youre talking about, Its really annoying and my car has it too. How can I get rid of it?? I usually try passing through the droning RPM range as quickly as I can to avoid it,

  • @Amirnake well...you can try installing extra resonators to quiet it down, or install dynamat in your trunk to keep some of the noise out (not sure how that works)....you can install in 4.10 gears so the rpm's will be a little higher. Or change to an exhaust that doesn't drone. If you have an auto, the drone happens mostly when the AFM kicks in, so you can get a tune to disable that.

the mach-x is the full cat back, the Quantam is just the axle-back. Without the headers, you'll see more gains from the cat-back. With the headers, the cat-back is probably a little quieter.

  • What is the difference between the Solo X and the quantam? Any fluctuation in dyno numbers?

  • the ARH kit goes all the way back to the axle (yes it has an X)...and I have the SOLO axle back.

  • Is there an x-pipe or are the OEM resonators still on?
